Microsoft will end extended support for Windows 7 on 14th January 2020
After January 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer provide support for PCs running Windows 7. Now is the time to upgrade to Windows 10.

What does end of support mean?

If you continue to use Windows 7 after support has ended, your PC will still work, but it may become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses. Your PC will continue to start and run, but Microsoft will no longer provide the following support for your personal or business windows 7 system;

No Technical Support
No Security Updates
No Software Updates

What happens if i continue to use windows 7 after January 14th 2020?

You can continue to use Windows 7, but once support ends your PC will become more vulnerable to security risks. Windows will operate, but you will stop receiving security and feature updates.     

Can Windows 7 still be activated after January 14th 2020?

Windows 7 can still be installed and activated after support has ended. However, to avoid security risks and viruses, Microsoft recommends that you consider upgrading to Windows 10.                      

Are there alternatives that will give me extra time to keep using Windows 7 until i am able to migrate to windows 10?
